The author briefly discusses the challenges of identifying gifted individuals. Then, she discusses the three things gufted individuals need to succeeed. Having done gifted and learning disability evaluations, I agree that there are challenges. Many possible etiologies for behaviors and poor achievement must be ruled out, as well as mood disorders and environmental factors. Then, the correct intervention plan at home and at school must be devised.
