Manage Fear

The events of the past weekend have caused many people to fear. Do you not let the fear take over. Here are some simple things to do to manage that fear

  1. Take 10 deep breaths
    Focus on solutions
    Turn off the TV and/or social media
    Talk to a friend, counselor, Pastor, or rabbi…
    Distract yourself with a fun activity, a calming activity, or an uplifting activity
    Meditate or Pray
    Activate coping thoughts

Dr. Sears is a licensed psychologist with a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work. She has worked with clients from 7 to 99. She is the 2013 Recipient of the Psychologist of the Year Award from the Florida Psychological Association and the Past President of her local chapter of the Florida Psychological Association.
